Licenses and permits

To hunt migratory game birds in Nova Scotia, hunters require:

  • Nova Scotia Wildlife Resources Client Card
  • Valid Nova Scotia Hunting Licence
  • Wildlife Habitat Stamp (acquired at time of purchase of hunting licence)
  • Any Federal permits or licences applicable to carrying a firearm and or to pursue federally regulated wildlife.

Hunting licenses are available through Authorized Vendors or any of the Local or Area Offices of the N.S. Department of Natural Resources. Click here for more information.
