North American Waterfowl Management Plan
Waterfowl migrate great distances, water flows over borders, and natural areas flourish across countries – so it makes sense that wetland and waterfowl conservation is an international effort. DUC works with partners from Canada, the United States, and Mexico through the North American Waterfowl Management Plan (NAWMP) and related projects, to conserve wetlands across the continent.
The North American Waterfowl Management Plan is an international action plan to conserve migratory bird habitats throughout the continent. The Plan's goal is to return waterfowl populations to their 1970s levels by conserving wetland and upland habitat.
