Field Reports

In addition to these seasonal field reports (available this fall) DUC assesses the habitat conditions for waterfowl across the country on a regular basis.
While we collect this years field reports (submit your Kee-Man field report here), you can check out our habitat reports to learn more about the condition of wetlands and waterfowl habitat across Canada!
What are Kee-Men?
DUC original volunteers were called Kee-Men. Their role was to keep an eye on waterfowl and habitat in their Prairie areas and report waterfowl numbers back to DUC. They were also goodwill ambassadors for the organization. They embraced and understood the need for DUC’s conservation program and publicized and explained the objectives of DUC. From 1938-1960s they were the valuable support for DUC’s aerial and ground waterfowl surveys.
Today, waterfowling.com our Kee-Men are continuing this tradition and helping waterfowlers across North America make the best of their Canadian hunting experiences.
